[Information] Basic Knowledge of Ion Plating

Excellent durability and high adhesion! Introducing the basics of ion plating.

This document introduces the basic knowledge about ion plating. Ion plating is a technology that vaporizes metals using heat or plasma energy in a vacuum, combines them with reactive gases to form ceramics, and then irradiates the workpiece with this material. It is a type of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition), and our company employs arc ion plating and UBM sputtering. [Contents] ■ What is ion plating ■ Features of ion plating ■ Principle of arc ion plating ■ Principle of sputtering *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Business Introduction: Ion Plating Treatment

A new technology that combines added value and eco-friendliness, originating from NASA technology.

Ion plating treatment refers to the process of coating metal films or reactive films in a vacuum. It is sometimes referred to as IP, derived from the initials, or titanium coating, due to the use of titanium as the main raw material. Additionally, it may be expressed as dry plating, meaning plating without the use of water. The principle involves generating plasma by causing a discharge within a vacuum container, evaporating metal, ionizing the particles, and accelerating them to form a thin film on the items set inside the container. Because the treatment is performed in high vacuum, a dense and well-adhering thin film is obtained. The most popular film is titanium nitride, which is formed by the reaction of titanium and nitrogen and has a golden color. By varying the ratio of nitrogen gas, a wide range of colors from silver to brown can be produced. Colorful hues such as gray, blue, and pink have also been realized using metals other than titanium and gases other than nitrogen. For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.
